Project Manager – Information Management and Technology (IM&T)
(Blackburn, Full-time, Permanent)

The role:
*Coordinate activities in the provision for the business in relation to Project Management – ensuring through stakeholder management, the strategy aligns to the business needs and objectives.

Overall responsibility to deliver internal and external business and enterprise projects to cost timescales, quality and customer satisfaction
*Leads and manages the delivery of small -medium complexity projects or work package within a larger project, the projects range from technology and applications to business change focused on transition and transformation aligned customer tactical and strategic road maps.
*The incumbent will be expected to shape, mobiles, plan and lead internal and external projects whilst adhering to internal BAE Systems delivery assurance processes and will be required to collaborate across EITS and within the Portfolio and Project Management Team (PPM) to address lessons learned, share good practice and continuously improve delivery management.

Core Duties:
*Manages aspects of the Project life cycle enabling the Project to meet the needs of customers/users and achieve financial or other targets.
*Acts as Project owner for one or more lower-value Projects or services.
*Facilitates uptake of Projects by planning development of Project collateral, supporting and evaluating campaigns, and monitoring Project performance. Rolls out Project trials and Project launches.
*Provides advice and guidance for effective use of measures and measurement and plans and implements improvements to measurement capability.
*Contributes to organisational policies, standards, and guidelines for measurement. Reviews data collection and storage mechanisms (including automation) to support measurement.
*Creates the business readiness plan, taking into consideration deployment, data, capability (training and engagement activities) and any business activities required to integrate new digital processes or jobs into the “business as usual” environment.
*Determines the readiness levels of business users regarding upcoming changes; uncovers readiness gaps and creates and implements action plans to close the gaps prior to going live.
*Assists the user community in the provision of transition support and change planning and liaises with the project team. Monitors and reports

progress on business readiness targets, business engagement activity, training design and deployment activities, key operational metrics and return to productivity measures.
*Identifies the communications and relationship needs of stakeholder groups. Translates communications/stakeholder engagement strategies into specific activities and deliverables. Facilitates open communication and discussion between stakeholders, acting as a single point of contact by developing, maintaining and working to stakeholder engagement strategies and plans.
*Provides informed feedback to assess and promote understanding – Captures and disseminates technical and business information.
*Deals with problems and issues, managing resolutions, corrective actions, lessons learned and the collection and dissemination of relevant information. Collects and uses feedback from customers and stakeholders to help measure effectiveness of stakeholder management.
*Utilises methods, tools, techniques; selecting appropriately from plan-driven/predictive approaches or more adaptive (iterative and agile) approaches.
*Assists in the development of new or improved practices and organisational processes or standards and facilitates localised improvements to the quality system or services.

Competencies
*Awareness of business unit policies and processes.
*Experience of working in an IT Function.
*A foundation level of experience in delivering objectives in line with some if not all of the Project Management IM&T skill sets.
*Be trained at least to ITIL foundation and either appropriate ITIL Intermediate or other appropriate capability training
*Knowledge of working within a SIAM operating model would be beneficial
*Relevant vocational qualification or equivalent experience (eg HNC/Prince 2 Foundations/Computer Science Degree)
